We are going to keep things simple for now. For plot based reasons, there are three types of zombies. Sorry, but George Romero can take his slow movers and shove it up his ass. Slow movers can not spread a virus, fast fuckers do.

There are three types:

Fast movers (28 days later/Dawn of the dead 2004)
Medium movers -light jog.
Slow moves (the undead).

Now here is how things go, Fast movers are not technically dead, considered alive. They have a beating heart, better brain function than most undead, and can sprint like a motherfucker and keep it's breath. They spread the virus the standard ways, through bodily transaction. Bites, some scratches, blood to blood contact or blood to membrane contact (drinking the blood/flesh of the infected OR rubbing your eye with virus) will get a person infected. Just picture a triathlon runner chasing after your ass with lashing teeth. Most of the time, its hard to tell if a fast runner is infected or not from the distance.

Fast movers have the virus and are alive. Running and kicking. But once they are killed (not shot through the head) they go through the death stage. This stage can last from 2 minutes to 3 hours. Once they revive, they come back as slow movers. Undead, etc.

Medium movers are fast movers slowly deteriorating. Fast movers last in their prime from 3-5 days. Their body wears out from the lack of nutrition and functioning body parts slowly die. Medium movers are the cross stage between fast and slow. They run at best at a light job or a fast walk. They last 1-2 days before they cave into slow movers.

All of the zeds only have one need, flesh. They can not smell you as much as they sense movement. Remember, moving quietly can save you. Especially if the zombie is dead and has bad ears. ^^

Rules for zeds:

They can not talk. They only find you by hearing, but once they spot you they will keep going after ya until they lose sight of you. Crawlers can lose interest quickly while sprinters can go at you for days. The only way zombies talk to each other is a simple battle call (if they have vocal cords left) that pretty much says OVER HERE. From there, zeds of all shapes and sizes will come to greet you with a friendly warm bite. Most zeds can not open doors, with an exception or two of knobs or lever types on occasion.

Note: There will be more monsters coming in soon. Types of monsters include Tyrants, mutant animals (spiders, dogs, etc), and other genetically modified beasts. For now, we need to take our time. Feel free to post suggestions for low level, medium level, or higher level enemies.
